Welcome to the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Kolkata. NIPER, Kolkata, was established in 2007 under the aegis of the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers as a Centre of Excellence for higher education, research, and development in pharmaceutical sciences. The Institute was declared an Institute of National importance by the Government of India through the Act of Parliament (NIPER Act 1998 & NIPER Amendment Act 2007). We are proud of preparing dynamic leaders who make a difference in the world with the skills nurtured here for a better tomorrow. NIPER Kolkata offers faculty and students a vibrant ecosystem that nurtures and encourages innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, our academic outreach initiative connects us to prominent researchers in several major academic institutes and industries through collaborations. I take this opportunity to invite more industries and researchers from academia and research institutions for effective collaborations. The Institute, in pursuit of its mission, has made history by introducing a course curriculum on rare diseases leading to 2 credits (36 hours of teaching) for the first time in the global context at the master’s level at NIPER Kolkata. The course curriculum has been designed through the initiative of DoP in collaboration of Minnesota University, USA.

In the coming years, NIPER Kolkata aims to position itself among the world’s foremost academic institutions in Pharmaceutical Sciences and allied areas. We will focus on building our core research strengths in all frontiers of Pharmaceutical Sciences, developing world-class teaching programs, nurturing translational research, and encouraging the incubation of successful start-ups. NIPER Kolkata provides an interdisciplinary, living, and learning education to help build the entrepreneurial mindsets, skill sets, and relationships invaluable for developing innovative, impactful solutions to today's problems.
